Iron ore is an important raw material for steel production enterprises. There are many kinds of iron ore. Magnetite (Fe3O4), limonite (Fe2O3.H2O), hematite (Fe2O3) and siderite (FeCO3) are mainly used in ironmaking.
Iron ore is an important raw material for steel production enterprises. Generally, iron ore with a grade below 50% needs to be processed before smelting. The following are the theoretical maximum grades for various iron ores:
1. Magnetite beneficiation equipment, magnetite beneficiation method
Magnetite has good magnetic permeability, and magnetic separation technology and equipment are generally used for mineral processing and purification. The whole process includes crushing, screening, magnetic separation and other processes. The specific technological process needs to be determined according to the specific properties and processing capacity of the ore and other factors.
Commonly used magnetite beneficiation production lines include crushers, vibrating screens, ball mills, classifiers, magnetic separators and other equipment.
2. Limonite beneficiation equipment and limonite beneficiation method
The magnetic permeability of limonite is relatively weak, and gravity beneficiation technology and equipment are generally used for beneficiation and purification. There are also cases of using flotation to purify fine-grained limonite, but flotation equipment requires a lot of investment, pollution, and high production costs, so it is not suitable for use in small and medium-sized concentrators. There are also magnetic roasting methods for limonite, specularite, and hematite, but the investment in equipment is huge and there are few practical applications.
Commonly used limonite gravity beneficiation production lines include crushers, vibrating screens, jigs, dewatering screens and other equipment. Other processes also use flotation machines, ball mills, rotary kilns and other mining equipment
3. Specularite mineral processing equipment, specularite mineral processing method
Similar to weakly magnetic iron ores such as hematite and limonite, specularite has poor magnetic permeability. Ore dressing and purification generally adopt gravity beneficiation method. There is also a purification method using magnetic roasting, but due to the large investment in equipment and high production costs, the magnetic roasting method has not become the core method of mirror ore beneficiation. Gravity beneficiation method is very common in the field of mirror ore beneficiation.
4. Hematite equipment, hematite beneficiation method
The nature of hematite is basically the same as that of specularite, and the beneficiation method and process are exactly the same. Usually, gravity beneficiation and magnetization roasting are used for beneficiation and purification. However, it is difficult for any beneficiation method to obtain an ideal beneficiation index for disseminated fine-grained refractory hematite. For the beneficiation of coarse-grained hematite and specularite, gravity beneficiation is the most ideal and simplest beneficiation method, and the equipment investment and production cost are also very low.
5. Siderite equipment, siderite beneficiation method
Due to its properties, siderite is a promising iron ore resource. One is that it can improve the iron grade after roasting. For example, when the iron grade is 35%, the iron grade can reach 50% after roasting at 600~700°C. The second is that siderite is transformed into magnetite after roasting, which is convenient for magnetic separation. Third, siderite has good reducibility. After roasting, CO2 escapes from the ore, increasing the voids in the ore, thereby increasing the contact area with the reducing gas, which is beneficial to smelting.
Siderite beneficiation methods include gravity separation, strong magnetic separation, strong magnetic separation, flotation, magnetization, roasting, weak magnetic separation, etc.
