Permanent-magnet drum-type magnetic separators can be divided into three types: downstream type, counter-current type and semi-counter-current type according to the structure of the bottom of the box.
Downstream type permanent magnet drum magnetic separator: the slurry feeding direction is the same as the drum rotation direction, the concentrate is discharged on the other side, and the tailings are discharged directly at the bottom. It is generally used for 6~0mm strong magnetic mineral coarse and fine minerals. Recycling, low recovery rate, high grade (due to strong magnetic flipping effect) but not suitable for processing fine particles (due to the low relative movement speed of the drum and the slurry, poor cleaning effect) counter-current permanent magnet drum magnetic separator: the direction of the slurry feeding The direction of the barrel is opposite, the concentrate is discharged on one side of the ore feed, and the tailings are discharged on the other side. Generally used in the coarse and sweeping separation of 0.6-0mm strong magnetic ore, with high recovery rate (because the tailings discharge point is far away from the ore inlet, and the separation is sufficient) but the grade is low (due to poor magnetic flipping effect).
Semi-counter-flow permanent magnetic drum: The slurry feeding direction is the same as the half of the barrel turning, and the other half is opposite. The difference from the downstream type is that the slurry rotates in the tank. Because the pulp is washed into a loose state by the washing water, inclusions can be prevented, and the direction of the pulp movement is consistent with the direction of the magnetic force, which is beneficial to recovery. Because the 0.5-0mm strong magnetic ore has a high recovery rate and grade of coarse, fine, and sweeping, the surface of the pulp is stable. Therefore, the selection is stable. Therefore, it is widely used.
