The ore crushing process is one of the essential material preparation operations in the beneficiation process. It is a process of crushing large materials into fine and scattered particles with the help of mechanical force, in order to provide a suitable feed particle size for the next beneficiation process. Common types of crushers in the general beneficiation process include jaw crusher, cone crusher, hammer crusher, impact crusher, roller crusher, etc.
The jaw crusher is composed of a fixed jaw plate and a movable jaw plate. The movable jaw plate periodically swings around the fixed jaw plate, so that the material between the two jaws is squeezed and crushed. After crushing, the material whose size is smaller than the discharge port is discharged from the gap between the two jaw plates at the bottom. The jaw crusher is suitable for coarse or medium crushing of hard and medium-hard ores. It is widely used in many concentrators because of its simple structure, high production capacity and high crushing efficiency.
There are two cones inside the cone crusher, one is a moving cone and the other is a fixed cone. The material is placed between the two cones. The moving cone is driven by the motor and other equipment to swing around the fixed cone. The material between them is crushed or broken to achieve the purpose of crushing. Cone crusher is suitable for medium or fine crushing. With the advancement of technology, the performance of cone crusher has also been greatly improved, and the shape of the product has been greatly improved. It is an ideal equipment to achieve "more crushing and less grinding".
Hammer crusher uses the motor to drive its internal hammer to rotate at high speed to impact the material to achieve crushing. The hammer head of the hammer crusher wears quickly, so it is limited in handling hard materials, and it is suitable for handling low hardness and brittle materials. In addition, the hammer crusher uses the grate bar at the lower part of the body to control the discharge particle size, but the grate bar is easy to block, so the hammer crusher is not suitable for processing materials with high humidity or clay.
The impact crusher is equipped with a blow hammer and an impact plate. The blow hammer is driven by the motor to rotate at a high speed to impact the material. After hitting the impact plate, the material rebounds, so that the material is repeatedly impacted and broken. Compared with the hammer crusher, the impact crusher has a larger crushing ratio, but the plate hammer is also easy to wear and is limited in the crushing of hard materials. It is suitable for coarse crushing, medium crushing or fine crushing of materials below medium hardness.
The roller crusher is mainly composed of two opposite-moving rollers, and the ore nuggets are rolled between the two rollers and are crushed by continuous pressing and rotating in the opposite direction. The roller crusher has a simple structure and is easy to maintain, but has insufficient production capacity and a large area. It is suitable for coarse crushing, medium crushing or fine crushing of materials below medium hardness.
