Comparison of phosphate beneficiation processes

Phosphate is an important mineral resource, mainly used in the production of fertilizers, pesticides and industrial raw materials. The purpose of phosphate beneficiation processes is to improve the grade and recovery rate of phosphate, so as to efficiently utilize phosphate resources.

The scrubbing and desludging process is suitable for treating phosphate with a high degree of weathering. The process is mature, but the grade and recovery rate of phosphate concentrate are low;

The heavy medium beneficiation process, the main gangue minerals in phosphate, such as calcite, dolomite, quartz, etc., have a specific gravity similar to apatite, and the heavy medium beneficiation method is mainly used. It has little pollution to the environment, has a good treatment effect on coarse-grained phosphate, and is not suitable for treating fine-grained phosphate.

Flotation separation is the main method of phosphate beneficiation, which is suitable for treating complex and difficult-to-treat phosphate ores, and the final concentrate grade and recovery rate are high.

The combined heavy-magnetic flotation process is suitable for phosphate ores containing useful associated minerals. The utilization rate of the ore is high, but the beneficiation process is complicated and often requires complex drug removal.

The roasting method is suitable for phosphorite with high calcium content. The roasting process is relatively mature, but the initial infrastructure investment is high, the calcination technology is difficult, and the energy consumption is high. Therefore, when choosing a mineral processing technology, the roasting method is often not given priority.
