When a gold concentrator processes phyllary gold ore, flotation is one of the ore beneficiation solutions commonly used by gold concentrators. Flotation is very operable for gold-containing ores of sulfide minerals because the floatability of sulfide minerals is very high. The flotation process enriches the gold in sulfide minerals and directly discards the tailings, which greatly reduces the cost of mineral processing. In my country, more than 80% of rock gold mines use gold flotation technology for mineral separation.
So how does the mysterious gold mine flotation work?
Generally speaking, the most commonly used process for flotation of gold ore minerals is: one-stage grinding-flotation. However, if the ore particle size is uneven, the staged grinding and flotation process can also be used. Therefore, the one-stage grinding and flotation-flotation process is commonly used in my country to achieve the enrichment of useful minerals.
So how fine does gold ore need to be ground to be suitable for flotation?
Generally speaking, if you want to obtain gold wrapped in sulfide minerals, you only need to dissociate the sulfide ore monomer. However, if the gold ore is connected with the gangue, the grinding fineness needs to reach the monomer dissociation of the gold ore, so as to ensure the recovery rate of the gold ore. As for the specific grinding fineness, it needs to be determined through mineral processing tests.
What are the slurry concentration requirements for gold mine flotation process?
The principle of gold mine flotation is: when flotating large-density, coarse-grained minerals, thicker slurry is often used; conversely, when flotating small-density, fine-grained minerals and slimes, thinner slurry is used, and thicker slurry is used for coarse selection. Slurry can ensure a higher recovery rate, and a thinner concentration is used for selection, which is beneficial to improving the quality of the concentrate.
Other process conditions
In addition to the grinding fineness, the process conditions that affect gold flotation also include slurry concentration, flotation reagent dosage, aeration volume, flotation time, etc., which all need to be determined through experiments.
In the general gold mine flotation process, the flotation reagents that need to be used include: collector, activator, foaming agent, etc. The collector is used to promote the floating of gold, the activator is to increase the floating speed of gold ore, and the foaming agent is Is to increase the number of flotation bubbles.
