Zircon is usually associated with gangue minerals such as magnetite, ilmenite, rutile, and monazite. The common beneficiation methods include gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation, electric separation and comprehensive recovery process.

With the development of modern industry, the requirements for zircon concentrate in production are also increasing. In order to improve the efficiency of ore dressing and the grade of concentrate, we mainly use comprehensive recovery technology for beneficiation.

① After the zircon raw ore is mined from the mine, it is first pretreated by a crusher, a vibrating screen, a ball mill and a hydrocyclone to convert the raw ore into a pulp that is easy to sort.

② Use spiral chute, shaker, jig and other equipment to carry out gravity separation and enrichment treatment on the ore slurry. The heavy minerals obtained by gravity separation are gravity separation rough concentrates, and the light minerals are tailings composed of gangue minerals.

③ Use a magnetic separator to carry out weak magnetic separation on the gravity-selected coarse concentrate. The magnetic separation process can remove weak magnetic impurities and ferromagnetic impurities to obtain zircon magnetic separation concentrate.

④ Add flotation reagents to zircon magnetic separation concentrate, including collectors (fatty acid, oleic acid, allyl alcohol), pH regulator (sodium carbonate), corrosion inhibitor (sodium metasilicate), activation Agents (sodium sulfide, zirconium chloride, ferric chloride), etc., can obtain qualified zircon concentrate after one roughing, two sweeping and two beneficiation in the flotation unit.
