Gravity separation, single flotation, and gravity + flotation can be used for the separation of scheelite. According to the type and nature of the ore, the beneficiation method and technological process are also different.
Due to the buoyancy of scheelite, gangue minerals with similar properties exist in the ore, which makes flotation complicated. At present, most of the scheelite deposits in my country are fine-grained tungsten ores, and flotation recovery is the most common. Scheelite flotation is suitable for scheelite with complex structures, non-metallic minerals, useful minerals, and gangue minerals.
Fine-grained scheelite is usually flotation by a single process, while coarse-grain scheelite is flotation by combined gravity separation and flotation.
The density of scheelite is 6.8g/cm3, which is similar to that of wolframite, but it is far heavier than gangue minerals such as quartz ore, feldspar ore, and calcite. Therefore, gravity separation of scheelite can achieve the separation effect.
Scheelite is often associated with various sulfide minerals, including molybdenite, chalcopyrite, and pyrite. In the beneficiation process, the sulfide ore is first floated, and then the scheelite is floated. Scheelite flotation is carried out in an alkaline medium. Pulp pH was adjusted with sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide. The most common inhibitors are sodium silicates, tannins, and various phosphates. Commonly used collectors are sodium oleate, tar, oxidized paraffin soap, etc. In flotation, collectors with foaming properties generally do not add foaming agents.
The beneficiation process of scheelite generally adopts a flotation process, and the commonly used flotation agents are sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide.
The flotation production line includes primary roughing, secondary sweeping, and secondary refining processes to obtain concentrate products; the tailings after mixed flotation undergo first roughing, second sweeping, and third finishing to obtain concentrate products; After the first scavenging and fourth refining, the concentrate is obtained through the underflow again, and the concentrate tailings are concentrated and filtered to obtain the final concentrate and tailings.
