Iron sulfur ore desulfurization process usually includes the following steps:
Mineral dressing: Separating impurities in iron-sulfur ore, such as iron and iron sulfide, through mineral processing to obtain iron-sulfur concentrate with higher purity.
Desulfurization: Use chemical or physical methods to remove iron sulfide in iron-sulfur ore to obtain pyrite with higher purity.
Smelting: adding flux to the desulfurized pyrite, heating and melting, separating the iron and iron sulfide in it to obtain ferroalloy and pyrite slag.
Electrolysis: The iron alloy and pyrite slag are electrolyzed in an electrolytic cell to separate the iron and iron sulfide to obtain electrolytic copper and sulfuric acid.
It should be noted that harmful gases and by-products may be produced during the desulfurization process, and corresponding safety and environmental protection measures need to be taken. At the same time, the desulfurized iron-sulfur concentrate may still contain a certain amount of iron sulfide and other impurities, which need further treatment to improve its quality and purity.
